CBD Dosing Guide
How to find your perfect CBD dose
6 min read
The Golden Rule
Start low. Go slow. Be consistent.
Why Dosing Matters
CBD affects everyone differently. Your ideal dose depends on many factors including body weight, metabolism, the condition you're addressing, and individual body chemistry. What works for your friend might not work for you.
Finding your optimal dose takes some experimentation, but following these guidelines will help you get there safely and efficiently.
General Dosing Guidelines
| Level | Daily Dose | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 10-20mg | General wellness, mild stress, beginners |
| Medium | 20-50mg | Moderate stress, sleep support, mild discomfort |
| High | 50-100mg+ | Significant discomfort, severe sleep issues, experienced users |
How to Start
Start with a low dose
Begin with 10-20mg of CBD per day. With our 2000mg tinctures, this is about 1/3 to 1/2 of a dropper.
Be consistent
Take CBD at the same time every day for at least 1-2 weeks before adjusting. CBD builds up in your system over time.
Track your results
Keep a simple journal noting your dose, time taken, and how you feel. This helps identify patterns.
Increase gradually
If you don't notice effects after 1-2 weeks, increase by 5-10mg and repeat. Continue until you find your sweet spot.
Dosing Our Tinctures
Our CBD tinctures contain 2000mg of CBD per 30ml bottle. Here's what that means:
- Full dropper (1ml): ~66mg CBD
- Half dropper (0.5ml): ~33mg CBD
- Quarter dropper (0.25ml): ~16mg CBD
For beginners: Start with 1/4 to 1/2 dropper (16-33mg) once daily. Hold under your tongue for 60-90 seconds before swallowing for best absorption.
When to Take CBD
The best time to take CBD depends on your goals:
- Morning: For daily wellness, focus, and daytime calm
- Evening: For sleep support and relaxation (try our Lavender CBD)
- As needed: For occasional stress or discomfort
- Split doses: Some people prefer half in the morning, half at night
Factors That Affect Your Dose
- Body weight: Generally, larger bodies may need higher doses
- Metabolism: Faster metabolisms may process CBD more quickly
- Severity of symptoms: More significant issues often require higher doses
- Product quality: Higher quality CBD is more effective at lower doses
- Tolerance: Long-term users may need to adjust over time
- Other medications: Always consult your doctor if taking other meds
đź’ˇ Pro Tip
More isn't always better with CBD. Many people find their optimal dose in the low-to-medium range. If you're not feeling effects, try adjusting the timing or being more consistent before dramatically increasing your dose.
CBD Safety
CBD is generally considered safe with a good side effect profile. However:
- Start low to see how your body responds
- Consult your doctor if you take other medications (CBD can interact with some drugs)
- Pregnant or nursing women should avoid CBD
- If you experience any adverse effects, reduce your dose or stop use
